Team Excel Synchronized Skating Teams proudly represent The Skating Club of Boston. The Skating Club of Boston, one of the nation’s most unique and vibrant figure skating destinations, was founded in 1912 and is the 3rd oldest club in the United States. Team Excel is in its fifth year representing The Skating Club of Boston.
Team Excel Synchronized Skating Teams’ Head Coach and Director of Synchronized skating is Merita Mullen, who is a recognized worldwide leader in the sport of synchronized skating. Merita brings extensive experience providing coaching leadership and training to medal-winning national and international competitors. Mandy Curtin, the Director of Skater Development, supports Merita at the developmental levels and brings her coaching and skating experiences to synchro skaters on the Excel Crystals teams. Our coaching staff also includes Krista Miller, Kristin Curran, Melissa Delano, Lee Anne Filosa, Jane Gruber, Johanna Jackson, Timothy Xavier, and Debra Martin Moffitt.
Team Excel promotes synchronized skating and prepares synchronized skating teams for regional, national, and international competition, encourages teamwork and sportsmanship, and supports skaters as they reach their full potential. Team Excel offers a unique opportunity to continue skating on a synchronized skating team while attending any of the colleges in the area. Team Excel Collegiate is currently ranked fourth in the country.
Our skaters are from area towns and cities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, Colorado, Florida, and California.
Skating practices are held at the Skating Club of Boston in Brighton, Massachusetts, the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts and The Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro, Massachusettes.
We have a limited number of spots available on teams for the 2013-2014 competition season (Beginner1 Boston, Beginner 1 Foxboro, Beginner 1 Marlborough, Beginner 2, Preliminary, Open Juvenile, Juvenile, Intermediate, Senior and Collegiate).
