Beginner Synchronized Skating at The Skating Club of Boston
Are you new to skating, interested in a fun, team experience? We invite you to try synchronized skating! Our Beginner teams are an affordable, fun and easy way for young skaters to learn the fundamentals of synchronized skating. The program provides an opportunity to enjoy the synchronized skating experience at a skill and age appropriate level. We provide instruction designed to teach individual skills and to prepare skaters for the next higher level. And we also provide educational seminars for parents about the sport of synchronized skating.
We are excited to open registration for our very special Beginner program. With three locations (Boston, Foxboro or Marborough) for our Beginner teams, parents can choose whichever is more convenient for their family. The schedules and locations are designed to offer flexibility while ensuring each young skater the opportunity to learn and develop. And each session includes opportunities for skaters to perform at a competition and at least one exhibition. Prices are affordable and vary by location.
As of Nov 4th, we are midway through the first session and skaters at all three locations are having fun and learning the basic elements of synchronized skating. There is still time to join Session 1, but families may also consider signing up now for Session 2 to reserve a spot on the Boston or Marlborough teams. At Boston, practices are on Saturdays from 5:00-6:00pm
Session 1: Sept 10, 2011 – Dec 18, 2011
Session 2: Jan 7, 2012 – Mar 31, 2012
At Marlborough, practices are on Sundays from 4:10- 5:10pm
Session 1: Sept 18, 2011 – Dec 18, 2011
Session 2: Jan 8, 2012 – Apr 1, 2012
At Foxboro, practices are on Tuesdays through April 30, 2012 with the following schedule:
Tuesdays 4:10pm Beginner 2
Tuesdays 5:10pm Beginner 1

During the 2011-2012 season, Team Excel offers two scholarship teams for college skaters. If you are a full-time student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, or plan to enter college in the Boston area next fall, please contact us. We invite you to skate with our Collegiate or Open Collegiate teams. Tryouts for the 2012-2013 season will be held at The Skating Club of Boston on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
